The Mammut Barryvox S2 Avalanche Beacon is the most advanced avalanche transceiver from Mammut for backcountry touring. It features the same 70m search width, battery life, and durability that made the original Barryvox S a favorite among avid backcountry skiers. Mammut made the screen larger and more visible with Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) technology that enhances clarity in all weather conditions. The Barryvox S2 is also slimmer and–even though it has the same battery life–only uses two batteries instead of the original’s three. Apart from those updates, the Barryvox S2 has the same specs and performs similarly to the Barryvox S. Auto self tests, auto search-to-send, audible search guidance, and frequent updates set the Barryvox S2 apart from all the other avalanche transceivers.
