Its polyester core and sheath construction were chosen specifically for water resistance, which keeps the rope from taking on moisture and weighing you down in the process. Since it’s designed for rappelling and ascending, it’s a static rope, and as such shouldn’t be used for climbing or situations where big falls are a factor.
