The La Sportiva Katana Lace is one of the most comfortable downturned climbing shoes out there, and it excels on long routes ranging from caves to dead-vert multi-pitches. It gains comfort by having less asymmetry than your standard downturned climbing shoe, which might sacrifice a bit of performance, but makes up for it by keeping your feet prime for crux pitch hundreds of feet in the air. Its stiff platform gives plenty of support for long days on your feet, and enhances the Vibram XS Edge rubber sole’s edging potential. It’s still considered one of the best edgers out there.
