Support for the Aggressive
The Men’s Otaki is one of La Sportiva’s most supportive climbing shoes with an aggressive downturn. Ideal for vertical-to-overhung sport climbs, the Otaki tackles technique-perfecting blank walls and long routes stemming out of large caves with the support and extreme downturn necessary for onsights and the occasional redpoint. This men’s version features a Vibram XS Edge rubber sole for firmer traction and enhanced edging on microscopic footholds, and La Sportiva made the lower-volume Women’s version with Vibram XS Grip for softer traction that’s grippier on all varieties of rock. The upper is mostly leather that stretches and conforms to your foot’s shape, and the paneled rubber on top allows the leather to stretch for a comfier fit than most toe-hookable climbing shoes. The dual hook-and-loop straps are microfiber to maintain a solid fit for a longer time.
