When the Walk Off is Harder than the Climb

The La Sportiva TX2 Evo is a lighter approach shoe that’s more packable and easier to bring on multipitch climbs with heinous walk offs. The single-piece upper folds into itself for better compact storage than your average approach shoe, and it provides plenty of breathability for descending in summer’s heat. An upper this pliable needs some sort of heel-securing device, and La Sportiva made C2 ComboCords that double as a place to clip the shoes to your harness. Underfoot, the shoe features Vibram’s Idrogrip rubber for the increased traction that climber trails need.
